Open Source
by Zuzana Valkova
The companies are trying to produce better and better programs, services or systems. They do it to make using computers easier and faster. But there are also lots of people, who are interested in creating new programs, but they are not working for such a company. It's just their hobby. But the fact they don't work for a big computer or software company doesn't mean that they don't have good ideas. That's why open source exist. Open source can be any kind of information, which can be used for free, and also can be modified and changed and then again distributed for free. The most important thing about open source is that the source code is available for users. With this code they can understand the program and improve it with their own ideas. As everywhere and always there are critics of this technology. There are many pros and cons. This kind of creation can be very convenient because it's free, and on the other side very dangerous because sometimes totally unmotivated and strange people are creating it. Maybe you are not interested in creation, or don't know how to do that, or you just want to use some applications which are verified and quality. So if you want to trust someone, try for example SigEx. This company is providing many services like social networking, entertainment services, like watching, sharing and sending videos, business services, like video calls, video conferences and many others. Just choose some. And you can be sure that these applications are good.
