Police in France will use Linux

Representatives of French paramilitary police have decided to switch Microsoft for free Linux operating system. This institution is one of the biggest administrations across the globe, which has chosen for such a breaking step.They also switched to open source Internet browsers in 2006, when they replaced Microsoft Internet Explorer with Mozilla Foundation browser Firefox. A year before these gendarmeries switched from Microsoft Office to Open Office, programs that can be downloaded for free.Linux is an open-source operating system, which also can be downloaded free and is assigned for average users. Gendarmerie's 70,000 desktops will progressively change their operation system Microsoft Windows XP into Linux.Colonel Nicolas Geraud, deputy director of the gendarmerie's IT department said, that there are three reasons for this action: "The first is to diversify suppliers and reduce the force's reliance on one company, the second is to give the gendarmerie mastery of the operating system and the third is cost."It doesn't matter which operation system you use on your PC.
